A regional issuer needed to migrate its entire credit card portfolio to EMV interoperability ahead of the liability shift.
Based on initial client interviews describing their business priorities, I created a presentation depicting select EMV card configuration options with benefits and drawbacks for each. Each configuration consisted of a hierarchy of cardholder verification methods that varied in their EMV card interactions with diverse terminal types in multiple countries. After the client opted for a signature-preferring configuration, I documented business and technical requirements for our client's credit card conversion and deployment, covering a wide gamut of areas ranging from systems upgrades to card plastic vendors. As a result, our client successfully deployed EMV signature-preferring cards 10 months ahead of the liability shift.
